James has a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Computer Systems Engineering (First Class Honours) from the Victoria University of Wellington.
James also has a Masters of Intellectual Property Law from the University of Technology in Sydney.
Prior to entering the IP profession, James worked as an engineer at a global leader in timekeeping technology for smart grid and industrial applications. His role included software development, technical support, testing and technical writing.
With a strong technology background in IT, software development and analysis, James is interested in the areas of cutting edge technology, from mechanical systems to Artificial Intelligence (AI).
His specialties lie in drafting, filing as well as prosecuting patent applications, and managing patent portfolios for his clients both in Australia and internationally.
